Beginning in 2023 the Department of Energy will be mandating more stringent efficiency standards on HVAC equipment. This isn’t the first time the minimum standard for new A/C systems has been raised, however the method of testing a systems Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio will be changed and a new rating (SEER2) will be applied.
